Arctic is Elizabeth Hartman's most recent collection for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. The collection is inspired by the icy landscape of the northernmost region on earth. This collection features polar bears, ice capped mountains, feathers, and tiny dotted snowflakes in a cool wintry palette of blue, green, grey, and blush. It really is the most gentle color palette!

This is a quilting collection and it consists of 24 fabrics; six unique designs each available in four colorways. You cannot go past the polar bears for cuteness, but I do also love the berry blossom designs (above).

Sunday Stash #452 More of This and That

This week I have another bundle of random fabrics to share with you; fabrics handpicked from collections and added to stash in the last few weeks. I haven't been tempted, or rather, I have been super selective these last few weeks when it comes to adding to stash. My fabric stash feels a little out of control 😱 and I really need to do a good stash tidy up to get a feel of where things are at.

First up this week are these these gorgeous new designs by Suzuko Koseki for Yuwa Fabrics. I love Japanese fabrics - especially those by popular designer Suzuko Koseki - and could not resists these three prints. I love the color combinations and the sweet daisy design. Lots of potential for fussy cutting! These fabrics were purchased from Sew Stitching Happy (Etsy).

Also from Sew Stitching Happy are these two prints from the Dear Little World collection for Quilt Gate. These two are new colorways of this design now added to stash.

And last, these beautiful woven gingham fabrics. You can't have to much gingham, it's such a great stash basic. These are from the Kitchen Window Wovens collection by Elizabeth Hartman for Robert Kaufman Fabrics.

Sunday Stash #451 More of This and That

This week's Sunday Stash bundle is a mix of random fabrics handpicked from fabric collections that I have recently purchased both from local stores and online. These new arrivals vary in design, size, and fabric base. Most are standard quilting cotton and several are a linen/cotton blend.

The first bundle (pictured above) is a single design from the Badda Bing! collection by Me and My Sister Designs for Moda Fabrics, and a cute small scale reproduction fabric available in five different colors. The second bundle are great stash basics ~ an addition to my Yuwa Dot stash (Yuwa Fabrics do such great dots), as well as a re-stash of a sweet pink/white stripe by Moda Fabrics. I have been known to use this stripe fabric for quilt binding.

Next are two canvas weight fabrics from the Front Yard Collection by Sarah Watts for Cotton + Steel. These large scale designs are printed on a cotton/linen blend canvas. I am keen to try my hand at making a carry bag from both these prints. The bag pattern is Stowe Bag by Grainline Studio and I have purchased it from Fibresmith.

Leafscape from the Etoffe Imprevue Collection

And last,  I have stocked up (enough for a big quilt back!) on this beautiful large scale fabric from the Etoffe Imprevue collection by Yoko Saito for Lecien. I was really drawn to the beautiful colors and the design that is printed on a lightweight cotton fabric with just a hint of texture. For scale reference the first photo is the size of a fat quarter. (Also purchased from Fibresmith).

Forage is Anna Graham's most recent collection for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. It is a collection of 20 hand drawn designs by Anna Graham, overprinted on Essex and Essex Yarn Dyed Linens.

The collection features six unique designs each available in up to four colorways, and was inspired by the botanical beauty found on the breathtaking trails of Western Wisconsin. The designs are printed on Robert Kaufman's Essex and Essex Yarn Dyed fabric ~ a fabric base that is a linen/cotton blend (55% linen/45% cotton) ~ and has a lovely texture. The fabrics are soft and drape beautifully, which makes them suitable for not only quilt making but also for garments and accessories like bags and zipper pouches, pillows, and more.

I am a huge Liberty of London fan and have added pieces of luxury Liberty to my stash over a long period of time - like a decade - and have quite a variety of prints on hand, albeit they are small pieces, but they are enough. I was however super pleased to receive a bundle of this glorious Alice Caroline Exclusive collection courtesy of Alice Caroline! 

Alice Caroline recently launched brand new and exclusive Liberty collection of fabrics. The collection has been designed in collaboration with the Liberty design team. Alice has chosen her favourite prints and created a collection of gorgeous new colorways which are now available exclusively from the Alice Caroline website.

There are 12 beautiful and popular Liberty prints which have been recoloured to create a stunning Liberty rainbow in dusty tones. The rainbow tones in this new collection are pretty soft pastels that still have the hallmark of strong Liberty design and colour. I love seeing these classic prints re-colored, and I am especially pleased with the new Betsy prints in Purple and Pink/Gold (pictured above), neither of which I would normally choose - purple and metallics on fabrics don't usually appeal to me - but these are so pretty (and the metallic gold is very subtle)!

I love this new collection by American Jane (Sandy Klop)! Play All Day is a collection of reproduction prints in classic primary colors with all the charm of a bygone era. I had trouble choosing a favorite print for there are quite a few designs that I am partial to, including these beautiful reproduction floral prints...

The collections consists of 26 prints plus 5 panels (not shown here) - 6 unique designs in up to 5 color ways. There are multiple floral prints, as well as checks, as well as posies, and  pindots. All are excellent small scale designs that are perfect stash builders and easy to use in your sewing projects.

I continue to enjoy working collecting and working with 30's prints! It is the vibrant colors and small scale prints that I have fallen for and because they work so well with a range of modern designer fabrics - which feature so strongly in my fabric stash - that make these such a great addition. The perfect stash basics.

The complete Storybook Ranch collection consists of consists of 33 different fabrics featuring 11 different designs in up to four different colorways. It is a big bundle of 1930's storybook prints with rocking horses, rose bandana's, spurs, playful pigs and more.

Polk is Carolyn Friedlander's most recent collection for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. The collection is an eight piece collection printed on Essex Yarn Dyed Homespun. This substrate  has a defined weave, more like a traditional shot cotton, adding both texture and interest. The eight piece collection consists of three unique designs each printed on a different Essex Yarn Dyed Homespun color base.

Sunday Stash #445 Front Yard by Sarah Watts

Front Yard is Sarah Watt's most recent collection for Cotton + Steel. With this collection Sarah pays homage to her mother who loved gardening. Sarah remembers many sunshine filled childhood afternoons spent digging in the front yard with her mother, often joined by her dad (who always had a big white beard like a gnome). 

Front Yard is filled with Sarah’s whimsical ink illustrations of animals and plants that are always so popular on fabric. I particularly like the mushrooms and garden gnomes for these too resonate with my own childhood and fondly recall stories and nursery rhymes about red mushrooms with white dots surrounded by gnomes. The mushroom print is available in two colorways, and each mushroom measures approximately 3" in height.

The collection consists of 13 prints, 5 unique designs each available in up to three different color ways. The gnomes, featured in the red and green colorway (pictured above), are 4 inches tall and are rather adorable! The collection also includes two rayon prints and two linen canvas prints - not shown here.
