I am the mother of two teens - girl 20 and boy 18 - and love to spend my time making quilts, collecting fabrics, knitting and crocheting.  I started this blog in April 2009 and have been both surprised and overwhelmed with the positive response to my work.  My quilts are fresh and modern, and often very simple in construction.

My quilts are made entirely by me!  I do all my own sewing and quilting on either my Juki or Bernina sewing machines.  I am largely self taught, although my mother, mother-in-law and sister are exceptional sewers and quilters - I am blessed to be in such good company.

I was born in Holland, but have lived in Australia for more than 30 years now.  As a family we love to travel and have been lucky enough to do so.  When traveling our maps are marked with local patchwork, fabric and yarn stores!  I have visited patchwork and yarn stores in Paris, London, Boston, Amsterdam, New York City, Croton Harmon NY, San Francisco and Houston.  I went to the International Quilt Festival in The Hague in 2004, Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK in 2014 and 2015, and the ultimate highlight was the Houston Quilt Market and Festival in 2008. I also taught classes at Sewtopia in Chicago USA - 2015. I owe my family. A lot.

I think you will agree that quilting is my passion, and fabric is my obsession.  My quilting style is fresh and modern; using really simple and often traditional design ideas to make colorful quilts. My blog is a journal of my creative self, and I hope to show readers that easy to make quilts can be really striking, and that by taking small risks in fabric and color selection the final product won't disappoint. It is all about sharing my knowledge, and I hope inspire others to pick up the rotary cutter and use their fabric stash.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions or are interested in a custom made quilt.
