Choma by Alison Glass
for Andover Fabrics
Chroma is the fifth collection in the Handcrafted series by Alison Glass. The full spectrum of color and smaller scale make this group highly useful for quilting, functioning as blenders as well as interest prints. So much color!
The collection consists of three unique designs - Plaid, Pinpoint, and Scatter - each offered in a rainbow colors that complement the previous Handcrafted collections. The Handcrafted collections are made entirely by hand (a process unique to Andover) and are a new interpretation of the ancient wax resist fabric dying art form (batik). It is made in Indonesia by people skilled with this technique. Many hands have gone into the making of this hand stamped and hand dyed cloth, and it is beautiful. The fabric is a slightly lighter than quilting cotton, and although technically there is a a right side, they are reversible.
The bright colors, modern designs, and clever interpretation of a style of fabrics that I would otherwise avoid has completely drawn me in. I am looking forward to working with these designs ... and have already cut into them. I hope to have more to show you soon.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE Alisons fabrics so much. It is a shame though that there are few real greens. Even so...I have a growing collection of her fabrics because of her saturated colours and lovely designs. Sandy B
