I have had a fun week working on this quilt and I am super pleased with how it turned out. The bright pops of solid fabric really frame the novelty fabrics so well and make this a rather cheerful kids quilt. I don't work with solid fabrics often enough!

I have finished the quilt by ditch stitching the edge to edge vertical and horizontal seam lines that surround each Story block. To add further interest - and quilting texture! - I have added additional vertical lines of stitching spaced just 1 inch apart; a modern and minimal look although requiring more than minimal effort and input of time. But well worth the effort.

For the back of the quilt I have used a single red polka dot fabric on a white background from the Delilah collection by Tanya Whelan ~  a classic "can't go wrong with a polka dot" fabric, and the last of some yardage that I had on hand.

And of course for the binding I have used my signature black/white stripe fabric by Timeless Treasures. I did audition (and make!) a red and white stripe fabric for binding but I changed my mind at the last minute. I couldn't do it! Maybe next time. [Custom quilt label by Lillalotta - Etsy]
