Emma Jean Jansen is an Australian fabric and quilt designer and now also an author. By the Bundle is Emma's first book published by Lucky Spool Media. Emma studied Textile Design at RMIT and is currently designing fabric for the Australian company Ella Blue.

Emma shares her love for traditional piecing and demonstrates quick piecing methods, raw-edge applique and freezer paper piecing to achieve colorful and modern quilts. Emma also offers guidance on how to combine precuts from different fabric lines, and tips on how to add solid fabrics to your bundle of fat quarters to achieve balanced contrast.

The photography is stunning and a feast for the eyes (photography by Jade Smithard). All the quilts are beautifully photographed on location in countryside Australia and as your turn the pages you are taken on a visual journey, which makes this book not only a great quilting guide and resource but also provides visual inspiration for color palettes derived from nature.

Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cut and the designs in this book are all the enticement that is needed to untie that much loved fat quarter bundle and bust that stash!
