QUILTS STATS
Liberty Blues Quilt
The finished quilt measures 60 inches x 60 inches.
A selection of almost 80+ different printed fabrics make up this quilt.
I made 36 16-patch blocks ~  a total of 576 patches of fabric.
(Refer to the Checkerboard Strip Piecing Tutorial for detailed piecing details).
Each finished square measures 2.5" x 2.5".
Fabrics include Liberty of London Tana Lawn, quilting cotton,
and linen blend fabrics.
Low loft cotton batting ~
Warm & White batting from The Warm Company;
a low loft cotton batting perfect for use with low volume and bright white fabrics.

The last few days I have been working on finishing both my Liberty Blues Quilt as well as my Aerial Grove Quilt. It is not often that I have two or more projects on the go - other than my slow sewing projects and occasionally a "behind the scenes project" that I can't yet show - but for now just the Liberty Blues Quilt is finished. The Aerial Grove Quilt isn't all that far from completion and I hope to be able to show you the finished quilt later this week.

For the back of the Liberty Blues Quilt I have used my go to backing fabric - which I still have some yardage on hand but is becoming increasingly more difficult to re-stock: Newsprint by Carrie Bloomston from the Story collection.

For the binding I have used a navy Tana Lawn print from the Liberty of London Garden of Dreams collection. This fabric complements the quilt and as it is a cotton fabric with a high thread count it is durable as well as silky soft.

Quilting: I have ditch-stitched all seam lines
creating an all over grid of 2.5" squares.
This quilt was sold prior to listing in my Etsy Store and prior to publishing this blog post. Imagine my surprise when I learned that this quilt will be joining my Worn and Washed Quilt. These two quilts belong together!

If you are interested in purchasing one of my quilts
 - even one that I am still working on -
please don't hesitate to contact me by email.
