MEMORIES QUILT

The Memories Quilt is finished and I have written a pattern. My first pattern for 2015! I cannot believe how quickly the year has passed. I promise myself every year to add to my collection of patterns however I usually find myself finishing one quilt and keen to get started on the next project rather than document the details of the quilt just finished!

ABOUT THE MEMORIES QUILT PATTERN (PDF)
  • The pattern is fat quarter friendly (13 Fat Quarters are required to make this quilt + background fabric).
  • Included is a list of fabric requirements and suggested cutting instructions for both standard width fabric (44" wide fabric) and for Oakshott Colourshott Cotton (54" wide fabric).
  • The blocks are constructed in such a way that all seams will "nest" when sewing the individual blocks together, as well as when sewing blocks together into rows, and when sewing rows together into a quilt top. This not only makes the task of matching seams and sewing a quilt top easier but helps to ensure that the seams will lie flat resulting in an smooth and even quilt top.

The actual quilt was sold prior to listing in my Etsy Store.

I have thoroughly enjoyed making this quilt! I enjoy the repetitive tasks involved in block sewing ~ cutting fabric, preparing individual units, chain piecing ~ and I love watching the brilliant colors, the design and the secondary patterns, slowly unfold in front of my eyes as progress is made.

  8. I wonder how this would look with just two fabrics, reversing each fabric every other block? Lovely quilt.

  9. Such a gorgeous quilt block. And you know, of course, that the orange-y/butterscotch-y block is my most favorite. :)
