Custom Order Baby Boy Quilt
44 inches x 56 inches.
This sweet baby boy quilt is finished and has been shipped. I am happy to have met all the requirements of my customer's brief; one that suits my color/fabric preferences perfectly - happy customer and happy quilter. A pleasure to make!

Shirt, Boots and Jumper fabric have been fussy cut from a single fabric:
Lifestyle from the Live Life Collection by Yuwa
(available in Pink, White and Light Brown, but it can be hard to find!)

I don't have a standard size for baby quilts but this larger size quilt for a baby - 44 inches x 56 inches - is a practical size for baby and toddler. Small enough to fold and take on outings, big enough for a baby play mat, as well as suitable for a toddler to carry/drag the quilt to where it is needed. This quilt may have been made for a baby boy but I think it equally suitable for a baby girl.

Quilted with straight horizontal and vertical lines - first ditch stitching all seam lines, then stitching through the center of each block, thereby creating an all over grid of quilting lines just 2 inches apart (the finished size of each square is 4 inches). For the back of the quilt I have used a classic red polka dot fabric on a white background from the Delilah collection by Tanya Whelan.

And I have used my usual black and white stripe fabric for binding, as was requested.

What makes parting with each of my quilts so much easier is knowing that the quilts are going to homes where they will be loved and used. Especially baby/children's quilts which may be part of a bedtime routine, or story time, or movie time; creating memories that last.

  12. It's a lovely quilt - hope it is used and loved by the little one who receives it. I've been wondering about adding black and white to a scrappy quilt I'm making - your border is making think I should be bold and go for it!
