Fabric Stashing

I took some time out away from the sewing machine and my laptop this morning to head to a local patchwork store.

As always I was excited to see, and inspired by the wide variety of fabric styles and designs at Patchwork on Central Park.  Lynn has an eclectic eye for fabrics and color, and her ability to arrange and collate them is exceptional.  You cannot walk away without a purchase of ...

... from left to right:
  • Grey and White Stipe (Cotton), Color Basics by Lecien
  • A blue and white ticking stripe,  no selvedge details but it a lovely woven fabric with a slight texture much like a linen blend fabric.
  • Flower Sugar by Lecien (Cotton)
  • Sketch Flowers by Suzuko Koseki (Yuwa) on a yellow background and white background.  Both these fabrics are re-stashes of what is probably one (of many) of my favorite fabrics.  Ever.
  • Liberty of London Tana Lawn ~ Roses
  • Last but not least a fairly large piece of high quality (and the softest) pure linen destined to become placemats - although I may of course have a change of mind.

Happy stashing and a wonderful Spring morning; I hear the sunshine is not going to last .... with rain forecast for the weekend.  Great for stitching.

  1. Dang, a trip to Australia to visit this shop probably isn't in my budget. These fabrics are beautiful, I love the peace they seem to emanate. I've never seen Sketch Flowers - which is probably a good thing because now I am drooling. Very jealous...please make something with them soon so I can drool over that as well!

  2. gorgeous stash, Rita. I absolutely adore the grey and white stripe and the linen looks so dreamy. Can';t wait to see your creations with it all ;-)

  3. Nothing like a spot of fabric stashing. I just stashed a Hometown by Sweetwater layer cake and some Terrain by Kate Spain charm squares. Oh the joy of fabric. Jacinta

  4. Fabric Stashing not on a Sunday?? How could you? Beautiful fabric.

  5. I love this stash! Perfect for a spring quilt! I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves gray- so restful.

  6. They`re beautiful,great choose.

  7. Love the pinks - SEW special for that pink and green quilt that I have in mind.

  8. love your fabric stash, it is so peaceful indeed! it's funny how gray~gray tones relax a person with those muted roses~but i do live in the pacific northwest so gray is kinda normal!

  9. Lovely fabrics - I particularly like Sketch Flowers although I don't think I'd want to cut it!
