I really underestimated how long it would take to quilt this quilt!  I would say without any doubt that I worked on just the quilting for 6 hours (probably longer).  I used nearly 500 yards of thread!
The finished size of the quilt is 46 inches x 56 inches.  It is the biggest quilt that I have quilted myself, and although I found it tough going at times, I would not hesitate in doing it again.
Here is a close-up of the quilting:
I again chose to go with straight lines vertically and horizontally from edge to edge, just a quarter of an inch from the seam line of each square block.  Then I quilted a diagonal line from corner to corner of each block, in the opposite direction of the triangle.  Luckily the photos above and below will help you make sense of what I have here described!
Now for the binding: - I have decided it is going to be red.  That's the stage we are at here.  It has been a busy week!  I hope you all  have a great weekend!!
