Earlier this month the team at Robert Kaufman announced the 2017 Kona Color of the Year and it is Pink Flamingo. This is the second year that a limited edition color has been released (last year's color was Kona Highlight), to be retired at the end of this year.

Of course I couldn't wait to get my hands on some (and no, I didn't buy a whole bolt). The color is quite a warm but vibrant pink, aptly named Pink Flamingo. As always I enjoying playing with color and trialled numerous color combinations for a quilt that I have been planning to make for some time. The final color palette ~

  4. I know. Y seams, and it is not that hard. You are incredibly industrious, Rita. That makes me very happy because we enjoy the creative escapades you venture in. I do not like this warm pink, but you did cool it off nicely. Parchment and white kona are such trusty colors.
I hope you are well. Thank you for sharing everything you do

  6. Beautiful! I have seen Flamingo and am excited to use it, but I haven't decided on a project yet. I love your Hexagons and the flamingo looks great with the white and the parchment!

Hmmm, it's the Year of the Rooster, and the colour of the year is Flamingo. 2017 definitely has an avian theme!
