A quick picture post today of a custom order baby quilt - the last custom project in the busy lead up period to Christmas. This time a quilt for a baby girl. Very girly. Pink, orange, yellow and red. I do love this color palette; that sunny yellow adds so much cheer!
The design is a super simple and not unlike this Spring Quilt that I made way back in 2009. Perfect for scrappy quilts and busting stash, and strip piecing.
Cut strips measuring 2 inches x 7 inches.
Sew together four strips (using a 1/4" seam allowance).
Press seams (direction isn't important)
Square up block to measure 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches.
Make as many blocks as required.
Sew blocks into rows alternating the direction of the strips.
I made a total of 63 blocks (9 rows of 7 blocks each)
and my quilt top measures 42.5 inches x 54.5 inches.
Fabrics are from stash. So many fabric favorites, some of
which have been part of my stash for quite some time and are now hard
to find, some are recent arrivals. Mixing prints and colors together
makes me happy.
Ready for basting and quilting. More soon.
