Fabric Stash ~ Basics

FABRIC STASH BASICS ~ those fabric staples that make up a significant portion of a fabric stash.  Stash basics vary from sewer/quilter to quilter but for me that usually means dots, stripes, checks, solids, and more recently chevrons.   It just so happens that it has been a week of basics stashing.

Lecien -  Color Basics
  • Stripes in Pink, Yellow, Green, Red, Black and Grey
  • Pin dot in Black
  • Medium Dot in Turquoise
Lecien Color Basics available from:

Robert Kaufman ~ Everything Nice
Apron Dot in Red, Aqua, Sunshine, Green and Grey.

Robert Kaufman - Everything Nice - available from Fabric Worm and  Hawthorne Threads.
And last ~ Chevron - Small by Riley Blake in a rainbow of eleven different colors.

Chevron  - Small by Riley Blake is a narrower Zig Zag Stripe than the original Riley Blake Chevron released earlier this year (now known as Chevron - Medium)
Chevron - Small by Riley Blake available from:

I generally like to purchase half yards when stashing basics although if I feel that a particular fabric would also make a good binding fabric - like Lecien Color Basics Black/White Stripe - I will purchase additional yardage.

Happy Stashing!

  2. Love the spots!! I am not a stripes or chevron person, but give me some grunge-type fabric and I am in basics heaven!

  3. These are all great basics. I seem to have a room full of dots and stripes, and it makes me happy just to look at them. Of course, actually using them is even better!

  7. I like to use antique fabrics and reproductions and use lots of ticking and shirting fabrics and when I find what I like I will buy yards and yards!

Oops! I deleted my comment so now I'm putting it back, lol!
