Sunday Stash #146

Kona Modern Quilts by Cynthia Frenette for Robert Kaufman

Cynthia Frenette, a graphic designer and illustrator by trade, has a unique and funky sense of style and design, as well as a passion for fabric and modern quilts.
Kona Modern Quilts ~ Pacific Colorstory
Kona Modern Quilts is a collection of pre-printed faux patchwork designs.  The collection comes in three distinct color palettes:  Pacific (as pictured above), Berry (as pictured below) and Merlot.  All colors coordinate with Kona Cotton Solids (see here for specific colors/details)
Look!  I've purchased the purple (Berry) palette.  That will be a challenge for me (excluding these, I can count the number of purple fabrics in my stash on one hand).  I have cut into my Kona Modern Quilts stash this weekend, although it may well be that I've chosen the Pacfic palette to get started on my next project.

Enjoy Sunday!

  5. Cynthia is fabulously talented and super nice to boot - she designed the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild's logo and has many wonderful designs on Spoonflower. So happy to see her work celebrated here!

  13. I find purple is not an easy colour, it's either too light or too saturated BUT these purples are just right! And with Cynthia's designs they are awesome!

  18. I absolutely adore the Fun(ky) Quilt you made with these fabrics and would love to make one like it. Do you have a pattern or block measurements/ fabric requirements available? If the sashing is 1", then the squares look like 4-5" and the border about 2 1/2". I am guessing from the picture.
