It's Finished - A Flea Market Fancy Quilt

 .
With thanks again to Nettie (A Quilt is Nice) for the inspiration, the Flea Market Fancy Quilt is finished.

In brief some of the details:

Fabrics:  Flea Market Fancy by Denyse Schmidt

Cutting Instructions:  Cut 480 squares each 3.5 inches and arrange randomly.  Sew squares together into rows, then sew together the rows.
Finished Size: 60 inches x 72 inches

Backing: Kona Cotton Solid in Chatreuse and Laurie Wisbrun - Tufted Tweets

Binding:  Kona Cotton Solid in Cyan

Quilting:  I have outlined all of the seams, stitching just a quarter inch on either side of both the horizontal and vertical seams.  Of course I have tried out my new sewing machine, and it has quilted beautifully.

Unfortunately I don't have the heart to sell this quilt, these fabrics are just too precious! It is definitely a keeper.

  2. Exactly what I was planning to do with my FMF for Amy's "Let's Cut and Use Our FMF" month of October!

Although I'm not sure I have the patience for 3.5" squares!

    Gorgeous!

(And congrats on the new machine!!)

  7. So fun! All those strips intimidate me- I just sewed a bazillion honeybun strips together, and after a few, it got all weird and wonky. I think it is time to invest in a walking foot!

I absolutely love how simple and lovely your quilts turn out.

  9. Not surprised you are going to keep it. But you will have all the other scraps to make another one, won't you?!!!!!!! If you have the energy to cut another 480 squares!

  30. i was inspired by how gorgeous your turned out that i took out the 10 in FMF squares i won from you ages ago and started cutting them in to small squares, 2.5, so that i can make a baby blanket/playmat for our new little one.

  46. I just picked up 14 fat quarters and a few solids from Karen Gray Design to make a holiday-ish quilt based on this one :) I told her that to get 480 squares sewn together by the time the holidays come around, I had to start now!!
