A picture post of the finished For the Love of Patchwork II quilt today and it is a very happy finish indeed. I love simple patchwork; exploring color palettes and working from stash, mixing stash basics, low volume fabrics, beautiful Liberty of London Tana Lawn, and novelty fabrics featuring flowers, fruits, cats, birds, mermaids and more. Some of these fabrics have been part of my fabric stash for some time and others are very recent additions (still sitting in pretty little piles dotted around my sewing area, not ready to be slotted in with "general stash").
The finished quilt measures 43 inches x 53 inches and I have ditch stitched all seam lines thereby creating an all over 2.5 inch grid of intersecting lines and giving the quilt a lovely soft hand without adding or taking anything away from the fabrics that are the feature of this quilt.
For the back of the quilt I have used a single floral print from the popular Katie Jump Rope Collection by Denyse Schmidt. I love this fabric collection and I am so glad it was reprinted (originally released in 2010). I am trying not to hoard the yardage that I have purchased especially for backing fabric. So far so good - two quilts in a row with KJR backing fabric!
For the binding I have used a narrow orange/white stripe binding from stash. Unfortunately there were no details on the selvage and I don't recall when/where it was purchased, but it does complement the tone of the quilt perfectly.
This quilt was sold prior to listing in my Etsy Store
