Sunday Stash #303 Rhoda Ruth by Elizabeth Hartman

Rhoda Ruth is Elizabeth Hartman first collection for Robert Kaufman. Named after Elizabeth's grandmother, Ruth, who decided  as a teenager that she would rather be called "Rhoda Ruth" instead, and was inspired by her grandmother's love for costume jewelry.

The prints in the collection started with sketches of some of costume jewelry and grew into a story about three small-town animals (a fox, a giraffe, and a snow leopard) who love to dress up and imagine themselves as incredibly glamorous.

Drawn by the jewelry box of saturated colors, the adorable animal prints, and also addition of numerous basic stash fabrics this collection jumped straight into my shopping basket. No doubt snippets of this collection will soon start appearing in my quilts.

  2. I LOVE this collection... beautiful colors and I think if you paired the whole line with a white on white background it would sparkle!

  5. Love the name of the collection -- my daughter and mother are both Rhoda, but we did briefly consider naming my daughter Ruth!

  7. Love the giraffes as well, and I have a daughter called Ruth. I think the name is popular again:-) Isn't it funny, I remember my Gran with large costume jewellery, and now the fashion is bling. Things go in roundabouts :-)
