Déjà vu! This week I needed a stash busting project and a project to catalog some of my all time favorite fabrics, often used fabrics, as well as those itty, bitty pieces that have been floating around for too long. After some deliberation and having already cut many 2.5" squares I decided that another Scrappy Irish Chain Quilt would be perfect for what I had in mind.
After three days of pulling fabric from my scrap bin and (mainly) from stash, cutting squares, some with the aid of my trusty Sizzix Fabic Cutter and 2.5" die, many more fabric squares fussy cut with rotary cutter and ruler, and then two days of solid sewing the result is this quilt top ~

If fabric is your thing then I know you'll recognize many of the fabrics used; some older and hoarded, many from more recent collections, including Japanese fabrics, stash basics, and novelty fabrics featuring animals, birds, toys, notions, accessories, flowers, fruit, and many more. There is a lot to see and there are stories to tell.
It's been a good week! I have had much fabric play and thankfully plenty of time to sew. I can't wait to get this one basted and quilted.
