My Spring Hourglass Quilt is finished! I have really enjoyed making this quilt and it I feels like I have found my sewing groove again. Or maybe it is just that I have stayed with what I know I enjoy doing ~ choosing fabrics, color play and patchwork piecing.
I am really pleased with how the quilt turned out. I especially like the addition of the plain squares which introduces a new color - orange - and adds another point of interest to keep the eye wandering. I also like the occasional "I Spy" fabric featuring animals, birds, flowers etc, as well as text.
To complement the colors of the quilt top I have used a used a single fabric from the Briar Rose collection by Heather Ross: Calico in Blue for the quilt back, and I have finished the quilt with my signature black/white stripe fabric for binding.
This quilt was sold prior to listing in my Etsy Store
and is already making its way to the new owner.

All fabrics used are from stash, which in itself is very satisfying although it hasn't made a noticeable difference to my fabric stash. I'll just have to keep at it. Once quilt at a time. Once stitch at a time. It's nice work.
