More and more 1930's reproduction fabrics have been creeping into my fabric stash over the last few months and although this addition may seem like a change in fabric direction these vintage inspired fabrics actually complement my modern stash remarkably well. What is old is new again.
First designed and printed in the 1930's these fabrics were mass produced, popular and inexpensive. Collections reprinted from that era have continued to be sought after and used in quilt making.
The colors are bright and cheerful and the designs tend to be small scale with ditsy all over patterns, both floral and geometric ~ not really all that different from some of the fabric stash basics that we see as part of collections today.
