I had a great sewing session today, committing the afternoon to sewing together the Half Square Triangle blocks into a quilt top. Three hours were set aside, they soon passed and more were needed!
I was determined to place the blocks on point which did mean having to tackle the maths to make the required setting half-triangles for the sides, and the easier top and bottom triangles. An online reference chart for calculating setting and corner triangles can be found here. I used my indispensable All-In-One Quilter's Reference Tool as a substitute for my calculator.
I think you will recognize many of the stash fabrics used; some of the fabrics are definitely hoarded whilst others are what I call stash basics (dots and stripes). It is rather satisfying (although messy) to sort through my fabric stash for just the right greens yellows and oranges.
Backing, basting, quilting, and binding still to come.
