Mini Quilt Monday - Spiderweb Quilt

I love some of the Spiderweb Quilts I have seen on the internet and decided to give it a go myself. I used this tutorial on Bonnie's blog which has really well written instructions.

This Mini Quilt was quite time consuming to make and created a lot of mess. Next time I will need to be more organised about it, with pre-cut fabric strips and prepared foundation papers.

I have used some of my many selvedges that I have accumulated over the years as part of the blocks. They pay tribute to some great fabric designers and manufacturers.

Be sure to take a look at some of the wonderful quilts on the Mini Quilt Monday Flickr Group.

  3. Amazing!!! Truly...with the quilts you churn out you should start holding quilting and design classes. Such a great eye for putting colours together!!

  8. I love it, I'd love to have a go at a full size quilt but as you say, I think that would require cutting a lot of strips and being organised.

  9. I love how you arranged the blocks into four half circles - and the quilting. Oh my! That was inspired! I also like that you used some selvedges along with regular strips. I think that is more do-able for most of us.
