I received a parcel in the mail yesterday from Glorious Color. Take a look what was inside!
These fabrics are from Jay McCarroll's range of fabrics as well as Brandon Mably. The Jay McCarroll range are on sale at $US7.00 per yard at Glorious Color. So I couldn't resist, particularly the Polka Blocks fabrics, starting with the purple fabric, then blue, orange, grey, and green. Love them!
I have finished piecing the new Blue/Red Quilt top together, here is a little preview of the layout:
The solid fabric is called handkerchief linen. It is a cotton/linen blend that is quite lightweight, and has a lovely drape. The colorway is called Hessian and it is a little darker than the linen I have previously worked with.
I really enjoy working with this linen; it is very forgiving in that it has a little stretch when needed, and does not crease as much as you would expect with linen. This solid fabric also makes the colors of the prints much more intense.
I am very happy with the layout and the overall effect of the design. The blocks have all come together well. What glorious color indeed!
