Having just finished my Cotton and Steel Quilt and with the release of the Fall 2014 Cotton and Steel collections imminent, now seems like a good time to post more detailed photos of these collections. This first Fall 2014 collection is Playful by Melody Miller which not only introduces a number of fun and playful designs but also the reprint of Melody's popular View Finders print in a number of colors.

I really like the mix of playful prints as well as the color palette. Also be sure to take a closer look at the text "word finder" print (pictured in the top image).

Next up is Cookie Book by Kimberly Kight which, if I had to pick a favorite fall 2014 collection, then this one might be the one. The color palette feels more "me", and the inclusion of the small scale floral prints (mini flowers - see below) gives this collection a more delicate/softer feel.

  2. The diamonds are particularly interesting. The word finder would make for a great quilt back, don't you think?

  4. You always take the best photos of fabric! Makes me want to run out and buy the whole lot! One of my local fabric shops has the entire line of Cotton and Steel ~ such temptation!

  5. I'm so thrilled to see these! Plus I'm so glad to see more Viewfinders! I'm sure the last collection must have been a little unnerving to release with everyone's expectations, plus their own. This collection looks more relaxed and well, playful!

  6. Thanks for the list of stores! I just bought 6 fqs from Matatabi, and hope to make a table runner. :)
