Scrap Buster Quilt Top

I made a commitment (to myself) to finish this quilt top by Tuesday evening and after a long sewing session, late into the the evening and early morning, it was done!  Well, only until I decided it really need just one more extra row.  I persisted and an hour or so later I was content with the quilt top.

This quilt top involved much more time at the machine than estimated ~  and is made up of 714 pieces of fabric ~ but my scrap bin is a whole lot lighter, and these itty bitty pieces have been put to very good use.

Sadly, since my fabric interests are so varied, my scrap buster quilt would look more like an insane person's frenzied thoughts put to a quilt top. ha.

  16. I love it! I just received 200 4 inch squares of fabric in a rainbow swap and thought up a way to do something similar to what you did here with the white on two sides of each square! I guess great minds think alike! Your quilt is gorgeous. Mine won't be quite as fancy as I'm just using the blocks as is with the white border.

  32. Niiiiice! I don't generally like scrappy quilts because they look...scrappy! But yours is wonderfully cohesive and I love how the prints within each colour work together instead of being all jumbled-looking. You must be very consistent when selecting fabrics for your projects!
