Trimmings

Thank you!

Thank you for your positive response, and the overwhelming number of comments received for the Urban Circus Giveaway posted on Monday!  Entry will remain open until Friday 20 August, 2010 ~ 12 noon AEST; only one comment per person/email address will be eligible to enter the draw.  Click here for details.

In the mean time a new quilt project is well on the way.

Brown, yellow, red and orange and the customary Kona Cotton - white.

There has been a flurry of (extra careful  - thanks for the timely warning!) rotary cutting, machine piecing, and layout re-arranging.

More soon.

  1. Yes...be super careful with that rotary cutter. I love the trimmings shot though Rita. Fabulous remains.

  2. My rotary cutter bit me a few weeks ago. Not fun, but beats scissors! Love those colors. I'm fawning over blacks, brights yellows, and reds right now. My husband thinks I'm bonkers.

  4. Oh I hear enough rotary cutter horror stories while I'm at work (at the quilt shop) so I try to be as careful as I possibly can! Makes me shudder just thinking about it!

  6. Ooo, Rotary blades and kitchen knives make me nervous lately. I had a particularly bad accident while chopping lettuce last week. All is better now, I hope I learned my lesson. It really took a toll on my quilting projects.

That project looks great, can't wait to see the finished product!

  7. Every time I think I've learned my rotary cutter lesson, I do something else! Oh well, at least I'm a walking example to my sewing sisters! Beautiful colors, and I can't wait to see the end result!!

  8. I save those little strips and use them in place of ribbon on packages, and also dump them in a bin and during the winter, crochet them together for all sorts of things. Love your color choices, makes me think about color a new way.

  11. Don't you just love Kona Cotton. I feel a lot of quilters don't know about it. And although it doesn't have the great 'feel' like a Moda fabric or a Northcott fabric has....it quilts up so nice. I used it in the third quilt I made along with fabrics I bought 22 years ago to make my girls twin dresses and never did.

  12. I love the colors & dots for the new quilt. Looking forward to more photos!

I've never cut my skin with a rotary cutter, by I have used it as a manicure tool frequently!

I told my family I want a Klutz glove for my birthday. All these photos of sliced fingers I've seen in blogland lately are freaking me out! And as clumsy as I am, it is probably just a matter of time!
