Sunday Stash #48

April is Quilting Month over at Sew Mama Sew, and this week they featured my article:  All about Fabric - A Quilter's Medium.

This article goes a long way in answering many often asked questions regarding stashing, storing, choosing and buying fabric.  If you have not already read it, be sure to head on over.

I also scored my very first Wollmeise yarn this week (from a Ravelry destash)!  Finally. This particular Wollmeise yarn has been stashed more than 23 000 times on Ravelry, however, there never seems to be any stock in the Wollmeise Store when I ckeck.  Is there a secret to purchasing this yarn?  Anyone wish to share?

  4. Great article! Aaah the Wollmeise! I follow The Loopy Ewe on Twitter and they send out a message when they update their online store with it. That's the only way I've scored any. You gotta be REALLY REALLY fast though because it sells out QUICK! :o)

and especially the thread "Essential 'Must Read' Tips for Wollmeise Virgins" at the bottom of the board. Not so hard when you know how and soooo worth it!

  7. With the Wollmeise, you gotta be really stalky on her shop, and REALLY fast with the buying! Things go in about 5 minutes. I'm not kidding.

  8. As others have said with the Wollmeise, read the Ravelry group info and either subscribe to The Loopy Ewe via Twitter or Facebook. And prepare to buy quickly as you'll only have a few minutes before it's all sold out. The fabric article is interesting. I move every few years and have to re-set-up my fabric/yarn/roving storage so I'm always trying something new in an attempt to find what I like best.

  10. Wollmeise is so hard to score. I have 3 skeins - 1 I won in a block contest and the other 2 I purchased from friends. There was a blog post from another knitter a while bag with tips on getting it from Claudia's website. I'll see if I can find it. Congrats on the score. It's a gorgeous colorway!

  11. Wollmeise update is around 2am our time. (eastern standard) on Thursday night (acutally Friday morning) and it goes in seconds. A friend of mine stalks the website every Thursday. She's got a rather large stash of it! and bought me some too! I just need to find a worthy project!
