Sewing up a Storm

I promised to show you more of the quilt that I am making with the Kaffe Fassett Shot cottons and woven Checks and Stripes:

I have loved cutting into and sewing with these fabrics, so much so that...

Does that happen to you?  My favorite extra long tape measure.  At least it it is right towards the end of the 120 inch tape measure.

On a matter quite unrelated to this progress report,
Susie from Flower Press is featuring me (me?) on her blog.

  8. I've done it once and used clear packing tape to repair it. It beats buying a new one. lol.

  9. Does cutting a fingernail with the rotary cutter count? Fortunately it was only your tape measure.

  15. LOL! I did something very similar not too long ago, only it wasn't my tape; it was the wire that connects my earbuds to my ipod. Ooops! :)

    Love the pile of color!

  16. I could totally see myself cutting a measuring tape. Better the tape than a finger though :)

  21. I nearly did that (the sewing tape). But an earlier incident made me extra careful - my rotary cutter fell on some fabric that I have cut for a quilt. Fortunately it has not yet been pieced and there was plenty of the fabric to go around.
