Finished Projects

I have finished hand sewing the binding on my new Strips and Bricks quilt.

I chose Amy Butler's Full Moon Polka Dot in Lime, from the Lotus range as the binding fabric. I really love this fabric, and have used it numerous times as binding for a quilt.

The finished size of this quilt is 34 inches x 48 inches. It has turned out a little smaller than what the pattern states, but I suspect that I was supposed to add seam allowances to the instructions. Not that it matters.

This was a relatively easy project, and is great for using all your scraps. This time the straight line quilting for this project was probably the most challenging part of the quilt for me. But you could quilt it with any design you like.

It so satisfying finishing a quilt! I has spurred me on to finally finish the binding on theTriangle Quilt also:

On that note, I hope you all have a great weekend. Here in Australia we are celebrating the Queen's Birthday (of England!) on Monday, and will be enjoying a long weekend.

Is it Queenie's birthday monday? How awful is it that us Brits don't do anything? Canada has Victoria day (a few weeks ago), you get Queen Liz's birthday, we get bugger all. Boo hiss. Have a great weekend!

  10. My jaw just drops every time I come by! It's a bit of a torture because there's so much crafty goodness and I can't play til I get over a yawningly tedious work hurdle (cue: tantrum)...
