Some of the work I honestly did not understand initially and I even thought that some of the crafters had bad taste/colour sensibility (evil me). When I've started to look more closely at the items I came to the conclusion that perception of colour must vary a lot from person to person.

I have always loved how different people have different colours that are their favourites and their 'colour comfort zone', I find it very inspiring to meet new people and get to know their personal colour world, it widens my own perception of colour I think. One of the best ways I've found to determine if people are seeing colours more-or-less the same (it's very interesting about the extra colour receptors in some women) is to find a rather indeterminate blue/purple colour, gather a group of men and women and try and decide if it's blue or purple. Hours of fun! The times I've ended up doing this, the group generally divides along gender lines, with the women seemingly seeing more subtle graditions than the men, but I suppose you could put that down to language-use too. I have read that women percieve red better than men, perhaps partially explaining the interest in pink in a way that doesn't involve Disney princesses. Anyways, interesting thoughts.Jacquihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01192730590127098720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027731275129684828.post-35655553770899497062011-02-06T13:51:17.813+11:002011-02-06T13:51:17.813+11:00This comment has been removed by the author.Jacquihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01192730590127098720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027731275129684828.post-9403145669305993052011-02-06T13:15:51.107+11:002011-02-06T13:15:51.107+11:00These are on my list to buy for sure, just haven&#...These are on my list to buy for sure, just haven't bit the bullet yet. There has been some research that feels that many women have an extra color receptor type in their eye (so not just red, green, blue) that lets them see more colors than the average person.

There's also a display at a museum near here that explores how different people see the same color in different ways.

I could ramble about this for a long time, but I'll spare you.
