I'm thinking of making the 820 or 830 pl...OOh! I'm thinking of making the 820 or 830 plunge before the end of the year. Right now I have the 440QE & a lovely old Bernina 180 which sews like a dream. The 180 rides around in the back of my car. I go to two different quilty groups every other week, so I don't have to lug one in and out of the house. I'm still not sure I'd turn either one in if I do make the plunge... I'm ver...I have had a Bernina 440QE since July. I'm very new at freemotion quilting so I am really just learning tons. I didn't get the embroidery module because that's not my big interest. My husband was surprised I didn't go for the 830. I can trade in up until the first of January, but I'm still thinking that is too much machine for me. Maybe you be very happy together!...Congratulations! Maybe you be very happy together! I too upgraded from my 440 to an 820 and I love it, although I did have to get used to it at first. I also kept my 440 (and I also still have a 1650; I can't get rid of machines, they are like my children ;). I'm afraid I'd have to trade up, and so I wouldn't be happy giving up my smaller machine. Also, I have the embroidery module for the 440QE. I've ha...Now that's what I call an upgrade.<br />I've had my 440 for only about three months and find it is a work horse. Though it has a few stitch patterns less than my Viking Lily 555 I find that needle threader and knee lift outweigh the lack of a few stitch patterns.
