Sunday Stash #310 Katie Jump Rope by Denyse Schmidt

Katie Jump Rope by Denyse Schmidt 2015 reprint | Red Pepper Quilts

for Free Spirit Fabrics

A reprint of the popular Katie Jump Rope collection and now my fabric world is complete. This is where it (my love for fabric) all began. Way back in 2007(?) when the Katie Jump Rope collection by Denyse Schmidt was first released (with more than 30 prints) it felt like I had found MY kind of fabric; fabric that I was instinctively drawn to and enjoyed working with. Katie Jump Rope together with the original Flea Market Fancy collection (also by Denyse Schmidt) drew me in to the world of patchwork and quilting and I haven't looked back.

So you can only imagine my excitement to see eighteen of the best selling designs reprinted. The colors are bright and modern and are contrasted with clean and fresh feedsack designs that include checks, dots, and floral prints ranging from small to medium scale in design.

  1. It is fun to hear you say this collection and FMF started it for you, because if I had to pick 2 collections that I associate with RPQ,(I think I started following around 2010-ish?) it would definitely be those 2! Fun! I sure hope to get my hands on some of these :)

  2. Hi Rita - This is a nice collection. It reminds me of when I think I first saw your site. I was looking for projects with City Weekend -- and your site came up. That was back in 2010. I think City Weekend is what launched my deep dive into fabric. I still have a lot of that collection in my stash. So, the big question for you is how much of that original fabric do you still have? Hope you are enjoying a lovely Spring.
