Quarter Log Cabin & Gingham Quilt - Part 2

And a quilt in pictures.

Last week's Quarter Log Cabin blocks have been sewn into a quilt top. With sashing. I don't usually make quilts with sashing so this did feel like a small step outside of my comfort zone, especially with such a bold choice for sashing fabric.

The red and white stripe sashing fabric is a basic by Riley Blake Designs. It is a 1/2" wide stripe. I did have two narrower red/white stripe fabrics on hand but decided that this wider stripe fabric was more "restful" to the eye.

I am really happy with how it has turned out and I have loved working on it. The gingham and stripe fabric are a timeless combination. The fabrics used for the Quarter Log Cabin blocks have either been rescued from my scrap bin or taken from my stash. The result is a busy but scrappy and cheerful quilt (it is certainly quite restful to look at in it's actual size).
