Sunday Stash #164 ~ Skinny laMinx

These have been on my wish list for some time!  And I finally did it.

This bundle of Fat Quarters are Skinny laMinx hand screen printed fabrics. Heather Moore, self-taught illustrator and designer, is the driving force behind the Skinny laMinx label. Heather - from Cape Town, South Africa - produces both textiles and homewares, shipping goods around the world.

These fabrics are a home decorator weight.  They are professionally screen printed on a cotton/linen blend base cloth and is suitable for clothing, upholstery, curtains, and ... quilts, of course.  Heather has a wonderful eye for color and a design style that cleverly combines a Scandinavian aesthetic with African flora and fauna.

I love adding a snippet of unique hand printed fabric to my quilts; not only does it add interest by way of texture but also a touch of exclusivity and individuality.

  1. I've had some of Heather's tea towels in a display on a wall here for ages. I never tire of it. Now that I think of it, I have a quilt made with another collection of hers that hangs in my bedroom. I'm just drawn to her art; I'm glad to see that you are too.
