A week of Spring in Melbourne typically means glorious days of sunshine, blue skies and gentle breezes, but don't forget to toss in a warm - 30C+ - day and follow it up with a return to Winter temperatures and rain and you get the general idea of what this week has been like so far. That's Melbourne in Spring.
Summer and I aren't exactly friends, and I am trying to make the most of the glorious days, aided of course by the school holidays and lack of our usual routine. Lots of distractions.
But I have started a new quilt project. I've spent a day or so rummaging through my fabric stash again, cutting squares for a custom order - A modern I-Spy Quilt not unlike the Low-Volume Scrap Quilt completed last month.
And I've spent today quietly stitching squares together into rows, and stitching rows together into a cute quilt top. I so adore these fabrics and have decided that quilts like these are a great excuse for having a - rather extensive - fabric stash.
This custom quilt is for a little girl and I was pleased to find a few extra girly and picture fabrics in my stash which will make for great "reading" and story telling. Every picture tells a story ...
Ready for basting and quilting.
Have a wonderful weekend,
