Sunday Stash # 132

I've been bitten by the Spoonflower bug - again ...

Spoonflower is a custom fabric printing service, which allows you to upload your own textile designs, printing only what you need on fabric weight of your choice.  You can also purchase fabrics designed by other Spoonflower community members and I have found some goodies:

From top left to bottom right:
I so love these bold, colorful and clever designs.

In contrast these rather sweet vintage reclaimed linens have also found their way to the stash:

So pretty!  The colors are so vibrant and the quality is excellent.  A reclaimed fabric project is slowly unfolding and has been shortlisted on the to do list.

Vintage sheet fat quarters were purchased from: So So Vintage @ Etsy

Enjoy Sunday!
Rita

  3. Is the spoonflower fabric as soft as quilt quality fabric you find at a quilt store. I keep looking but haven't bought anything yet.

  8. Oh wow! My head is spinning with the possibilities! When I started to quilt, one of the 'rules' was that "you can't use sheets". How silly. And Spoonflower is just an amazing universe of design. Thanks for sharing these!

  16. Rita, I'd love to hear your opinion of the texture and hand of these prints now that they're on Kona! I ordered the Macaroni Love Story line, and was a bit disappointed in the quality of the base cloth--I know it's all digitally printed, so we can't really expect it to feel like manufactured fabrics, but I'm hoping that the Kona as a base cloth has improved the texture a bit? Would love to hear your opinion before I buy 65 trillion yards of that spectacular selvedge print--seriously, why hasn't anyone thought of doing that design before?? Love!

  22. Thanks for sending me back to Spoonflower Rita, didn't realise they were now printing on Kona! I presume that's what you have shown? The colours look great. I've had mixed success on their cotton poplin but the thicker linen/ cotton was great. It's just a little too thick for me to use for patchwork. As Deborah mentioned I can't to see more of your Kona print. I also echo Deborah's "why didn't anyone think of that before" sentiments re the selvedge print, very cool!!

  23. My grandparents are both in their 90s. I should have known that Gramma has not bought new sheets in a VERY long time. ALL their sheets are vintage! I am putting those under my name on the list of things she can leave to me!

I love using a vintage sheet for a quilt back.

Can't wait to see what you do with those vintage pieces!

  25. :) I hope it wasn't my fault with my bicycle fabric comment the other week?!? I spend far too much at Spoonflower - mainly on my own designs!

  26. Just put in an order for some vintage fabrics. Went home to Blairgowrie Rita to ask my parents for the vintage sheets we all slept under when we bought the house back in 1992 and were left behind by previous owner. They have been used as Dad's paint drop sheets! Gutted!!!
