Sunday Stash #90

I have stashed a new batch of striped fabrics purchased from Whimsie Dots on Etsy.

If you have been following my blog for a while you may already be familiar with these fabrics.

They are reclaimed vintage bed linens (washed and re-washed) ready for recycling.  To refresh your memory here is a picture of the quilt made with my previous batch of striped fabrics from Whimsie Dots:

I really enjoyed making this quilt and have been toying with the idea of making another one just like it, or with some variation in the overall design.

Enjoy Sunday!
Rita

  13. Love those "boxed" stripes! Excellent eye for color and arrangement. I was the lucky winner of two stacks of lovely floral prints from Whimsie Dots. These on-grain, generous cuts of freshly laundered, silky smooth fabrics are just waiting for the right project.

  19. I am intrigued - I love all those stripes but when I looked at the Whimsie Dots website I noticed the fabrics were polycottons. I've always been told patchwork has to be cotton - is this another myth??? Please let me know as I just love this look and will start cutting up sheets with wild abandon! or buy some ready cut if Whimsie Dots ships to the UK!

  20. Rita: So interesting that you mentioned your In A Spin quilt in this blog -- I was shopping stripes just this past Friday with your previous quilt in mind and had, in fact, pulled up your earlier post about this quilt. Can't wait to see your next striped quilt!

  24. I love the idea of wringing every last bit of stripiness out of a striped fabric. That must be why they invented stripes in the first place...
