Around the Block - June 2010

A quick block swap update:

Becky from Becky et al   asked for fun, quirky and wonky blocks either logs cabins or square in a square style.  Both blocks measure 10.5 inches.

I was happy to oblige however, as you can see, I am still having some issues with the intentional wonky aspect.  Looking at the block on the left I DO see wonky, don't you?

  1. I DO see it, too! Certainly not as wonky as the one on the right, but a little wonky & beautiful none the less! I have trouble with wonky, too - in fact I have never actually tried it! Maybe some day!

  9. It is all down to personal taste. I like it a bit wonky if it is simple patterns. But if there is a lot of 'information' it makes me feel a bit dizzy....
Practice makes perfect, and it is good to play and have a go!

  11. Of course there is some wonkiness - I can understand your difficulty with "wonky" - I too am rather particular about straight lines!!!

  17. Straight patterns are good, but it's so much fun to just play with the fabric and create as you go! I love your wonky blocks, and that fabric is great!!

  19. I cant tell you how much I love these blocks! I have so many bold color and large print scraps from so many "boy" projects and have never been able to see how they could possible be all put together. This is such great inspiration for me!
