Tuesday - Parcel Day

I bet it is still Tuesday somewhere in the world!

We are still rolling with the punches this week. A plumber has now attended to some leakage issues (water trickling through the downlights!) which occurred after my husband changed the washers in the upstairs bathroom taps.  (A lesson learned - if you leave the plumbing to the plumber then the quilter can get on with her quilting : )
Favorites - Rural Jardin - Vinette Woad  Bleu and Vinette Blue Clair

I thought I would also share with you a text I received whilst at work on Monday night from my son:

"Mum the toaster went on fire and I put it out in the sink"

Yep that made me feel better! Fifteen year old boys are not very communicative, and this was my fist ever text from him.  I guess we were very lucky, and I am looking upon this as a change in fortunes.

Of course, this fabric parcel cheered me up considerably also.

I am back behind my sewing machine now. Ah ... Stitch stitch ...

  1. Beautiful fabrics! I especially love the toile... such a nice counterpoint to the plaids! I can commiserate with you on the house problems - we live in an old house where something is always going wrong!

  6. Wow... Lovely fabrics (again!). Where did you buy Favorites - Rural Jardin - Vinette Woad Bleu and Vinette Blue Clair? I can't find them at The Fabric Shack.

  7. The two favorite fabrics are there:

Click on the link to the Fabric Shack in the post and you will find them as the last item in row 7 and then the first item in row 8. The colors are a little lighter, but I think my pics are a little more accurate (according to my comp screen).

  12. Whew! Thank goodness you're all safe! When I was about 10 i set our trailer on fire. My mom was home, but on the toilet, and unable to come running immediately when I yelled "Fire!" While I was running back and forth from the sink getting pitchers of water she was getting increasingly agitated, shouting from the bathroom. Fortunately we controlled the fire quickly... It's one of those things we look back on now and laugh. :-)

  13. Love the fabrics! Your place sounds like mine! My sink is leaking, my furnance stopped working, and garage electricity is completely out... arg. Quilting to the rescue...hopefully the light stays on in my quilting room!

It is still Tuesday here in California, US.

  14. Vinette Wood Blue is my favorite. Looking forward to seeing the beauties you'll make with these fabrics. My 2 boys are younger than yours but this is a lesson to learn for me when they will grow. Have a nice day (already Wednesday here in Belgium).

  16. I got a parcel from Fabric Shack this week too. I love that shop. I also have a jelly roll of Rural Jardin coming from a different shop. It was $10 off. I had to have it.

  17. Happy stitching with the new fabrics too - it is amazing how calming a session at the machine can be whilst "chaos" surrounds!!!

  18. I do hope he unplugged that toaster first?!!! My brother blew up our toaster years ago by sticking a knife into it while it was on...yeeshh do they ever learn?! I really hope your bad luck run changes very soon and you have some really good weeks coming up. Love the fabric xo

  19. Beautiful fabric, I've ordered some Rural Jardin, and I'm waiting for it, after seeing yours I can hardly wait. I do hope your son unplugged the toaster first, and glad no harm came to him or the house.

  20. I sympathize with the husband plumber issue - we are having a husband electrician issue here - the lights in my sewing rooom are out!

    That text is too funny.

I hope things stop breaking soon and you can get more sewing done! Wonderful fabrics!

  21. You know, I have a 31 year old husband and I swear that there are days when a text from him is the best way of communication! He'll text me about stuff right away, instead of forgetting about it and then not telling me when I get home.

  22. I hope he unplugged the toaster before he threw it in the sink!

  24. I love the Rural Jardin fabric. I made a gorgeous quilt with the French General Rouenneries and can't wait to get my hands on some of this. It always seems to get to the UK last :(
