Last night I had some time to piece all these fabrics onto some Linen/Cotton blend fabric (in natural), by strip piecing. It is a lot more productive to work this way rather than piece with small patches of fabric.
These strips were then cut cross-cut at 3 inch intervals to make these:
The patches were then pieced to make 4-patch blocks. I learned the hard way that you should take care when sewing together 4 patches, otherwise not all blocks will be identical in terms of the direction of which way the seam allowances are ironed. In which case sewing together a quilt top is a lot more difficult. I again spend some time with the seam ripper!This is what I will be sewing together into quilt tops today:
