Thank you all for visiting my blog! I am so pleased that I have been able to conquer blogging, of course, with much help from my 15 year old daughter, who has been a great help with setting up my header and templates. It is not as difficult as I thought it was going to be.
I made my first log cabin quilt in 2007 from 1.5 inch strips, using light and dark fabrics to be able to create different layouts with the finished blocks. This quilt was professionally machine quilted by Karen Terrens of Quilts on Bastings.
I was lucky enough to have this quilt featured on the front of the Australian magazine "Down Under Quilts" Issue 116, 2008. There are also instructions in the magazine for the making of this quilt (pages 38 - 40).
I really enjoyed the piecing of this quilt and have this week started a new log cabin quilt using 1.25 inch strips. This is my current work in progress:
I am using some of my favorite fabrics in pretty soft colors. It is a slow process, but I am enjoying the sorting of colors and the repetitive piecing. Sometimes it takes me so much longer to decide on the color combinations than it takes to sew the block!
